CBD And THC, Which One?

There is a lot of misinformation out there regarding what CBD and THC actually do. They both come from the cannabis plant but give different effects. Here at Remedi, we want to simplify it for you so you don’t have to waste time looking for it yourself. This way you can be knowledgeable about which method you prefer to enhance your life.

What is THC?

THC or tetrahydrocannabinol is a psychoactive compound, and is responsible for the sensation of a high or euphoric feeling. THC works with receptors in the brain to help control certain feelings like pain or mood. THC can release chemicals such as dopamine and cause hallucinations and delusions. As a result, it can enhance anxiety and contribute to short-term memory issues and the inability to concentrate. However, it does offer some benefits like pain-relief and relaxation. According to Livescience, THC in the body can produce effects that last for a couple of hours, and usually kicks in between 10-30 minutes after consumption.

It is extremely important that you carefully consider the specific type of THC you are putting into your body. THC Edibles have a higher lasting effect and an accidental overdose could lead to a life threatening situation. In the long-term, THC can affect brain development and mental illnesses. With the growing popularity of this product, you need to know what percentage of THC is contained in each product in order to avoid these side effects for now and the future. At Remedi, we take care to label our products so you know the exact percentage of THC in each product.

What is CBD?

CBD is the other popular compound found in the cannabis plant. CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is not psychoactive. In short, CBD will not get you high, and its benefits can be very helpful for your overall health.

CBD has a long list of health benefits apart from those offered by THC, however both compounds do share a few of the same benefits:

  • Relieve pain
  • Reduce anxiety
  • Possibly reduce acne
  • Help with heart health
  • Reduce depression
  • Alleviate cancer symptoms
  • Neuroprotective

Here at Remedi, we know that CBD may be more beneficial for your own health, and while it doesn’t get you high like THC, there are still side effects from taking CBD products:

  • Fatigue
  • Weight loss and appetite changes
  • Difficulty maintaining balance
  • Diarrhea

These side effects are much less harmful than those of THC. Be aware that some small traces of THC can still be found in CBD products: by definition, ‘CBD products’ are considered as such when they contain 0.3% or less THC. At Remedi, we value complete transparency and want to ensure that you take our CBD products safely. We know firsthand how CBD and THC can make a difference to your lifestyle.

Are CBD And THC Legal?

Both CBD and THC have their legal regulations. Federally, CBD Hemp-driven products between 0% and 0.3% THC are legal, which is what we sell at Remedi. It is, however, up to the state you live in to regulate whether or not you can take or sell CBD products. For example, marijuana driven CBD is federally illegal but has been deemed legal in certain states. Just as a heads up: because nonprescription CBD is not FDA approved, this can lead to inaccurate labeling, especially when it comes to the percentages of CBD and THC in a given product. If you want to learn more about CBD and THC legality in your state, it is suggested that you look up the state medical marijuana laws. Overall, CBD and THC each have their own benefits and side effects and it is up to you what you prefer for your ideal lifestyle.
